NOTES ON THE PROGRAM

Problem Presentations (Monday): 25-min online presentations will be given in parallel.

Teamwork (all week long): Join your private team to start solving the problem.

Data Visualization Workshop (Tuesday): The objective of this workshop is to learn how to design and produce an effective visual representation of data to make the most value of it according to the communication goals and target audience. It will be presented by Thomas Hurtut, Associate Professor in the Department of Computer and Software Engineering at École Polytechnique de Montréal and his students. They will be available throughout the week to accompany the teams individually. They are available on Wednesday August 25th, and Thursday August 26th, from 10am to 12pm, to support teams individually.

Team Problem Solving Updates (Wednesday): A one-hour plenary activity that aims, through informal conversation, to bring participants together and provide general tips/keys/tricks to help overcome obstacles.

All hands on deck (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday): Team members and their coordinators meet, by team, on their TEAMS channel for an update session.

Networking sessions (Tuesday and Thursday): All participants, coordinators and partners are invited to the platform for a 30-minute networking session.

Publication Help: A 2-hour session presented by Michael Lindstrom, Assistant Adjunct Professor at the UCLA to help those who would like to publish paper related this workshop.

Pitch training: This 2-hour training session is dedicated to help teams prepare for the closing plenary. It will be presented by Nada Zogheib, Executive Director of the Centre d’entrepreneuriat de l’Université de Montréal and Gabriel Campeau, sociologist and liaison officer by training, serial entrepreneur and founder of the coworking  space Le Tableau Blanc in the St-Henri district.

Solution Presentations (Friday): 25-min online presentations will be given in parallel.

Closing Plenary (Friday): It will be a festive event to celebrate/outreach and will be open to the public.
