Accommodation Suggestions

Except for the Sunday evening reception, that will take place on the Université de Montréal campus, the conference venue is the McGill Faculty Club and Conference Centre, located downtown Montreal, right on McGill campus.

Sunday venue: www.crm.umontreal.ca
Monday-Wed venue: www.mcgill.ca/facultyclub

Hotels

There is a large number of hotels within walking distance of the McGill Faculty Club. Below is the link to the McGill Official Hotels Program for information on hotels for which a special McGill rate is available, you just need to request the McGill rate when discussing a reservation. (It has been suggested however that given the tough economic times, there might be even better deals to be found directly on the hotels websites or elsewhere on the web): www.mcgill.ca/travelservices/hotelprogram/listing (select the downtown area option).

Access to the webpage with the McGill rates is restricted to people with a McGill ID, but the special rates can be obtained by contacting the hotels directly.

Residences

McGill University students residences are not available before May 15 but the residences from Université de Montréal and from UQAM (Université du Québec à Montréal, René Lévesque residence only) are available.

UQAM: www.residences-uqam.qc.ca/hotel (choose the boul. René-Lévesque option)
UdM: www.studioshotel.ca

The UQAM's residence is a 20 minutes walking distance to the conference venue at McGill. Public transportation is also an option for both residences, with many efficient options (subway, busses) to McGill campus downtown, see the Montreal public transportation page: www.stm.info
