Hierarchically Structured Stochastic Systems

April 4-10, 2002
CRM, Université de Montréal

Organizing committee:

Don Dawson (Carleton & McGill)
Klaus Fleischmann (Weierstrass Institut für Angewandte Mathematik und Stochastik)
Andreas Greven (Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg)
Anton Wakolbinger (Johann Wolfgang Goethe-Universität)

Program

Abstracts

Interacting particle systems, spatial stochastic models, measure-valued processes, mean-field and hierarchical mean-field limits. Applications to modeling in biology, communications and economics.

LOCATION: Centre de recherches mathématiques, Montréal.

RELATED ACTIVITIES: As part of this a Probability Day will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2002 (at McGill University). Related activities will also take place during the spring term Miniprogram on Interacting Stochastic Systems at the Laboratory for Research in Statistics and Probability (LRSP) in Ottawa.

SPONSORS: CRM, LRSP and funds provided by the Humboldt Foundation as part of a Max Planck Award for International Cooperation.
