You should therefore contact the nearest Canadian Visa Office (at the Canadian Embassy or Consulate) as soon as possible. U.S. Citizens must bring proof of citizenship with them such as a birth certificate, passport, or voter registration card.
Please note that it is compulsory for visitors staying in Montreal who wish to register their school-age children in public school, to obtain a work permit.

Each visitor is responsible for their liability insurance during their stay in Canada. Upon arrival, you will have to subscribe to the Régie de l'assurance maladie du Québec. If you are eligible, coverage is limited. Therefore we suggest that you contact Canadian Embassies or Consulates for further information concerning health coverage that you need in Canada.
